Faith, Leadership & Service

Born in Anderson, South Carolina, to Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, Derrick Boseman developed an early foundation rooted in faith, family, discipline, and service. As the eldest of three brothers, he naturally embraced a leadership role, cultivating the values of responsibility, compassion, and community that would later define both his ministry and public service.

Driven by a passion for faith, leadership, and service, Derrick pursued degrees in Theology and Biblical Studies at New Life Theological Seminary. His studies laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to mentorship, outreach, spiritual development, and empowering others to discover purpose and direction in their own lives.

As Founder and Senior Pastor of Tribe of Judah Outreach Church in  Tennessee, Derrick has spent decades guiding individuals and families through faith-centered leadership, practical transformation, and authentic community engagement. His ministry has become known for its compassionate outreach and commitment to serving people from all walks of life.

Throughout his journey, Derrick has remained committed to advancing youth development, mental health awareness, educational access, economic empowerment, and entrepreneurship. His work includes mentoring emerging leaders, supporting violence prevention initiatives, and helping create pathways for long-term success in underserved communities.

Beyond public leadership and ministry, Derrick's greatest source of pride is his family. He and his wife, Lady Trista Abraham-Boseman, have been married for more than three decades and are the proud parents of four accomplished adult children. Together, they have co-founded youth leadership and life-skills initiatives that continue to impact families throughout Middle Tennessee.

As Co-founder and Principal of Boseman Family LLC, Derrick helps guide initiatives across media, publishing, community engagement, and creative development. His work reflects a commitment to honoring family values, supporting artists and storytellers, and fostering opportunities that connect art, culture, and community. This chapter also includes the continued stewardship of projects that celebrate and preserve the impact of his brother, Chadwick Boseman.

Today, Derrick continues to inspire audiences through ministry, mentorship, speaking engagements, and community leadership. He is also preparing for the release of his upcoming memoir, a deeply personal reflection on faith, resilience, brotherhood, and the life lessons gained through his journey alongside Chadwick Boseman. Through every endeavor, he remains committed to helping others live with purpose, hope, and conviction.
